I also tried adding ../thrift-cocoa/transport to my header search paths. I’m guessing my issue is that i’m not addding these files correctly. What do you mean by “3rd party group”?
thanks again!

Recursively adding it in "Header Search Path will resolve this issue, it seems.

Rob,
I feel your pain. I agree the Android platform has gone too long without updates while we focused on the iOS platform, but rest assured we have NOT abandoned the platform and we do have a release scheduled soon which is currently on beta. Check our forums for more info.

Hey, I don't know if you know this, but there are these OTHER phones that run ANOTHER OS. It's called the Android OS. I know... you have a version that you released.... well, quite some time ago, and near as anyone can tell you have abandoned it. Now, you are obviously gonna claim that thats not true (what else would you say?) But the truth is that there have been little to no updates to it. It lacks all but the VERY VERY basic features - it's pretty obvious that it was slapped together and rushed out. I used BibleReader for Windows Mobile and it was ok, not great, but ok. If I had bought it for Android, I would have IMMEDIATELY asked for a refund. It would almost be better if you would just admit that you now make BibleReader ***EXCLUSIVELY*** for the iphone. The version for the Android OS is so woefully underdeveloped and unsupported that you should be embarrassed for releasing it in the first place. The Android userbase is HUGE, and growing faster than the ipone is - not sure why you are now backing only one horse, but I feel pretty disappointed in a once great and potentially greater product.

I wanted to chime in as well in praising the work you all have done. Both the iPhone app and the iPad app are daily in use for me. I work in an Apple retail store, and every time I do a workshop, when demonstrating the app store, I show them your app. I also see quite a few pastors in one on one training sessions and I always. Get an. "ooh" and "ahh" at the side-by-side Greek NT. I'm very much a fan.
I do have a request or two. 1. I would love to be able to search for scripture references within other books-I want Spurgeon's take on Isaiah 53, but when I search his sermons it tells me I can't hop directly to it unless I'm in the Bible. 2. Scrolling on the latest iPhone app has become so jerky as to be unwieldy (even on the ever-speedy iPhone 4). I've reverted to page scrolling, but I miss my flick scrolling. I have a few other ideas, but those two are primary.
Thanks again!

I've been very pleased with Bible Reader for years. On the iOS devices, it has gotten better by leaps and bounds. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. However, I have one question. In the picture you posted, why are the ladies either sitting on the floor or standing, while all the men are sitting comfortably in padded chairs? Shouldn't the gentlemen stand up so that the ladies can sit down? :-)

Mark,
We have no immediate plans to drop iOS 3 support. It will eventually go away just as 2.2 support has been removed from BibleReader. At this time we use iOS 4 functionality if its available on the device if not we fall back on something else.

Simon,
What is the in-app SMS you are asking for.

It is wonderful what you have done with BibleReader for the iPhone and I look forward to seeing what you have planned for the future! It is a toss up which I use more, BibleReader or Mail.

While iOS 4 has lots of shiny new features, I want to caution you about dropping iOS 3 device support, however.

For a case study on what not to do, check out what happened when Agile Web Solutions dropped iOS 3 compatibility with their 1Password Pro app:

Keep up the good work!

Wow, thank you for the comments. It's very humbling to hear from users such as yourself and know that the Lord has used my work.

BibleReader will someday have these features but not right away. We have several other features we are working on in the meantime.

Stay tuned ;-)
